Sony has formally announced about its new Ps3 firmware update 3.30, with some added-on features. The new firmware update is said to be released at the same date when Sony’s first 3D TV under “Bravia” line will be launched but for currently it is available for download from Ps3 console. Users can download it from Sony’s support page, even without the internet access in the console, by just copying the date to a memory card or pen drive.
According to US Post Today and Neo Seeker “Ps3 update 3.30 is fully loaded with a variety of features like the new game and grade that is available when viewed through friends, Trophy tagging methods with chorological effect and above all the updated version is said to be the only gaming console with new stereoscopic 3D tools”, so I think all Ps3 game lovers will surely love it. But along with all these magnificent features, the Ps3 update 3.30 is also suffering from ‘Update Bricking Consoles’.
The users have complained “we are experiencing problems while updating our Ps3”.
To me it could just be a coincidence, however if you too have suffered such a problem then don’t hesitate and feel free to comment upon the new Ps3 update 3.30 in the space given below.

I’m based in Thailand with a UK PS3 slim – never had trouble updating firmware before on htis machine.
Today – I try to play BBC2 amd it asks for an update 3.30. Then tells me it cannot connect to the server, and fails. Tried for an hour this way an joy. Fair enough I thought, probs with my Thai connection.
So I go to look for the 3.30 firmware download from the Sony Playstaion site (so I can download via my laptop onto a flash drive, and install the update USB stylee) – BUT IT DOES NOT EXIST!
I can’t work it out – press releases saying 3.30 update out – even links to the Playstation site. BUt all lead to older 2.21 update!
I’ve read forums where people have said they’ve downloaded it (some love it, others have had probs) -but again – when I search from my laptop for a 3.30 formware link – it SIMPLY DOES NOT EXIST!
If it had all crashed, or Sony pulled the plug – I should have read it online… but 10 hours today of trying to get this bloody update on my PS3 , and no mention online of my problem :
THAT THE 3.30 UPDATE DOES NOT WORK ON MY PS3 SLIM (CANNOT CONNECT TO SERVER) AND THAT I CAN NOT ‘MANUALY’ DOWNLOAD VIA LAPTOP , AS AS OF TODAY, THERE IS NO 3.30 UPDATE ON THE OFFICIAL SITE, OR ANY OTHER LINKS I HAVE TRIED…
So in a nutshell – no online gaming for me, and no information avaliable as to WTF is going on..

I updated and now my console (fat 40g) cant read discs.
We updated this weekend. It will play regular dvds and games downloaded but not PS3 disc games.
