Joe Nathan has been suffering with significant injury due to a tear in the collateral ligament in his right elbow which could make him miss the entire season.
According to the details, Joe Nathan has been felling soreness and swelling in his elbow which even forced him to walk out of the game against Red Sox on Saturday. He underwent a CT scan and MRI on Monday as a precautionary measure.
Joe Nathan and his team were hoping to receive some positive news from the medical advisor. But what he thought as a minor reaction to his October surgery turned out to be significant tear. The news which Joe Nathan received on Tuesday morning was not very good.
Joe Nathan was diagnosed with a tear to his ligament in his right elbow. A news conference was held on Tuesday in which the team officials told about the progressing with Joe Nathan and the team’s GM Bill Smith. Reportedly, Joe Nathan has plans to give his elbow a two weeks rest and to let the swelling end.
He would then work with trainers and would try to pitch again. If the plan doesn’t work, Joe Nathan will have to undergo a surgery and will have to miss the entire 2010 season.
