Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles swapped their respective defensive ends yesterday when Darryl Tapp was acquired by the Eagles and Seahawks got Chris Clemons.

In addition to Clemons, Seahawks also received a fourth-round pick in this year’s NFL draft from the Eagles.

The move seems to come with a hope that the two footballers are able to relaunch their career once again from different camps.

Tapp was a restricted free agent and the club resigned him on Monday after offering him a tender.

Tapp’s last year with the Seahawks was a decent one as he produced 49 tackles, earned 2 ½ sacks and defensed 3 passes. During his four stay at the Seattle camp he played a total of 64 games and recorded 186 tackles while forcing eight fumbles.

Andy Reid, Philadelphia Eagles coach, praised Tapp and said that Darryl was an intense player and they are all excited to have him in the camp. He praised his abilities and said that Darryl’s smart and he fits well into their defensive apparatus.

Tapp stands tall at a height of 6’1” while Clemons has a height of 6’3”. But Tapp weighs nearly 30 pounds more than Clemons.

Tapp was born on September 13, 1984 and was drafted into the NFL in 2006. He was picked up by the Seahawks in the second round in the draft and he has been ever since been with them.
