Rick Scott beats McCollum in Primary

The newcomer, first-time politician Rick Scott amazed the political and social circles after defeating the long time politician and Attorney General Bill McCollum in the Primaries.

The Republican primaries for governor were held yesterday, in which Rick Scott’s easy victory over Bill McCollum was very much surprising for a number of people.

It is said that Tuesday’s primary in which Rick Scott won the nomination for governor by the republicans is one of the most ugly and most expensive primaries in Florida history.

Reports shows that Rick Scott backed himself with his wealth spending over $50 million on the campaign to won the Republican nomination for governor.

According to the reports Rick Scott gained 46% of the votes throughout the precincts and Bill McCollum received 43% of the votes, while the third GOP candidate Mike McCalister only received 10% of the total 97% votes.

Rick Scott is all set to face Alex Sink in November to become the Governor of Florida, while the independent candidate Lawton Chiles is also getting ready to face the challenge.

Alex Sink defeated Brian Moore to win the Democrats primary for governor.
