The Las Vegas Sun is quite famous newspaper among the Americans. It is a Pulitzer Prize winning newspaper. The Las Vegas Sun is rated one of Las Vegas Nevada’s two daily leading newspapers. Greenspun family owns it and it is affiliated with the Greenspun Media Group.
In the era of 1990-2005, The Las Vegas Sun used to be published in the afternoons on weekdays. The newspaper is now included as a section of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. It now continues to operate on its website.
Brian Greenspun, the editor and president happens to be a personal friend of the Ex-United States president Bill Clinton. In his office, Greenspun had given Bill Clinton a warm welcome and treated the former president as a house guest while he was fund raising in Southern Nevada.
Turning on the pages of history, it appears that The Las Vegas Sun got first published on May 21st 1950 by Hank Greenspun, who stayed on the editor’s seat till his death. Initially the newspaper used to be published in the mornings but from the start of 1990, the newspaper turned to afternoon publishing.
This edition continued to roll on till September 30th 2005. On October 2nd 2005, The Las Vegas Sun signed a joint operating agreement with the rival newspaper ‘The Las Vegas Review-Journal’.
April 20th in 2009 brought the newspaper the eminent award ‘Pulitzer Prize for Public Service’ for the coverage of the high death rate of construction workers on the Ls Vegas strip amind lax enforcement of regulations.
The Las Vegas Sun has a mammoth circulation and is read widely all over the Las Vegas area and whole of America.
