Tax Free Weekend 2010, Time to hit the shopping Malls

Tax Free Weekend 2010 is upon us, it is time to spend on the things you need, not the things you want. (May be a little bit, but do it wisely­).

Tax Free Weekend, is a weekend when people can save a good deal of money on a range of products from cloths to household items and from computers to home appliances. Tax Free Weekend 2010, started yesterday on Friday, August 6, 2010 and will last till 8th August.

Authorities said in a statement that, there are several States, which are participating in this year’s Tax Free Weekend and people, who live in or near those states are lucky to have the opportunity to save huge amount of money, by purchasing things they NEED.

It is said that the sales tax exemption on the items could vary from State to State, while the Tax Free Weekend will be celebrated in different States on different dates.

According to the statement this year Tax Free Weekend 2010 is being celebrated in Virginia, Connecticut, Vermont, Alabama, Texas, Iowa, Oklahoma, Florida, Tennessee, Maryland, South Carolina, Mississippi, North Carolina, Louisiana, New Mexico, Missouri and New York.

It is said that all the said States will Inaugurate Tax Free Weekend 2010 on different dates, while the tax exemption will differ from State to State as well.

Florida State will celebrate Tax Free Weekend 2010 from 13th August to 15th August and the tax exemptions on footwear, clothes and books will be under $50.
