the Oriental Trading Company was reached by the Haitian relief workers for assistance with psychologists who’re working with traumatized children in Haiti. The company responded immediately and donated more than 10,000 crayon packs to them.
According to the details, Sean Penn, American film actor and director and two-time Academy Award winner and a social activist, reached his own circle of influence to seek help for the traumatized Haitian children. In doing so, the word was spread and it made its way to Oriental Trading Company.
In Haiti, multiple camps have been set up to help Haiti earthquake victims. More than 10,000 children are also residing in these camps. The psychologists are helping these children to get engaged in therapeutic activities.
Psychologists are asking the children to draw pictures with themes including ‘life before the earth quake’ and ‘life after the earthquake’. The crayons sent by Oriental Trading Company will be used in these activities.
Talking about the donation, the CEO of Oriental Trading Company Sam Taylor said that his team worked hard to choose the right product and then to deliver it to Haiti refugees camp on time. He further says that they’re glad that they were given the opportunity to help Haitian earthquake victims.
