Baby Matters and the Consumer Product Safety Commission have issued “Nap Nanny” recall. According to the reports, 30,000 Nap Nanny’s have been recalled and users are asked to stop using Nap Nannies immediately. Baby Matters asked customer to contact them for further instructions.
The Nap Nanny recall has been issued as a result of a death of four months old infant who fell over the side and trapped herself between the Nap Nanny and crib rail and died. It has also been reported that 22 other complaints from different areas have been reported about the Nap Nanny.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission and Baby Matters LLC warned the users to use Nap Nanny only on the floor surface to avoid tragedy. They also issued the warning and instructions for the users of second generation Nap Nanny.
The customers have been asked not to use first generation Nap Nanny (without D Ring) and to contact company through their website or toll free number (888)240-4282. By calling on the given numbers, the customers will receive a coupon of $80 off for the purchase of the new Nap Nanny (With D ring).
According to the statistics, Baby Matters sold 30,000 units of Nap Nanny to the retailers from January 2009 to July 2010.
