Nadja Benaissa of Germany made an appearance in the District Court of Darmstadt after being charged with aggravated assault. A 28-year-old Nadja Benaissa is on trial for having unprotected sex and getting her sex partners infected with HIV.
According to the details, Nadja Benaissa, who is facing the charges of infecting her lovers with HIV, made her first appearance in the local court in Germany. She denied infecting the men deliberately and told the court that she felt sorry. Nadja Benaissa has been charged with aggravated assault. She is also charged with attempted harm for allegedly having intercourse with two other men who are not infected with HIV. If proven, Nadja Benaissa could face a sentence of up to 10 years of imprisonment.
Nadja Benaissa maintains that she had no intention of infecting her sex partners and that her doctors had told her that the risk of transfer of her disease was almost zero. Her sex partner learned about Nadja Benaissa’s HIV from her aunt and went for a blood test right away. The man, whose identity is kept secret, addressed Benaissa in the court and said that she had created suffering for a lot of people.
Benaissa is the lead singer of German band ‘No Angels’ which was formed in 2007 and has emerged as one of the most successful girl bands of the country. Nadja Benaissa was arrested a year ago from Frankfurt just before she was about to perform in a solo concert. She spent 10 days in the police custody. Nadja Benaissa’s court trial is expected to end in a month.
