Google’s move to speed up the growth and adoption of online business, made them launch the Google Apps marketplace. Google Apps Marketplace is a web store that can be used by third-party developers to sell their web applications to administrators paid Google app users or to individual, free users.
The main feature of the Google Apps Marketplace is that it offers over 25 million “paid & non-paid” users including 2 million businesses to the developers, who are interested in selling their applications online.
Google’s move of launching “Google Apps Marketplace” could be justified by saying that they are in a hurry to may their way into the enterprise.
Users would be able to by cloud-based apps from “Google Apps Marketplace” that are works only with Google applications.
Chris Mey the senior product manager for the giant GOOGLE said, Tonight is the night for the unveiling of “Google Apps Marketplace” that will feature 50 apps initially from the third-party developers.
These 50 applications are available to those 25 million users plus 2 million businesses, who are using Google applications such as Gmail and Google Calendar.
Chris Mey said that their customers or users want more and more applications, they want specific applications for specific vertical and Google wants to help all their clients, but the challenge in that is as you get more applications, more and more hassle is there, because these applications do not work smoothly together normally.
He then added that cloud-based Google app is specifically designed to and being introduced through Google Apps Marketplace is designed to work with all Google applications, leaving lot of hassle out of the consolidation.
