Well all those people who have been waiting for a reason to bake something special or wax their floor, today is the day to do so. Well I am no astrologist of fortune teller I am just quoting Farmers Almanac 2010 edition here.

So what is Farmers Almanac all about? Farmers Almanac is an annual American periodical which contains a list of do’s and don’ts for each day of the next year. It gathers weather and astronomical data and together with a touch of humor it gives recommendations what to do each day throughout the year. The magazine is famous for its portrayal of conservative values and also for its everyday tips.

The Farmers Almanac organization was founded in 1818 in Morristown, New Jersey. The first editor of the magazine was David Young. The periodicals are published by Almanac Publishing Company in Lewiston, Maine. The current editor of the magazine is Peter Geiger while the post of Managing director is held by Sandi Duncan.

The Farmers Almanac is most famous usually for its weather predictions. Its publishers have claimed that the magazine’s weather predictions have an accuracy of more than 80 percent. What’s astonishing about the organization is the fact that their method of calculation and prediction is a big well kept secret. The only thing they state is that it is based on astronomy, sun’s activity and other planetary activities. The identity of its weather forecaster is also not public who just goes by a pseudo name Caleb Weather bee.

The organization also has its own TV channel by the name of Farmers Almanac TV and the organization has also been referred in many movies and TV series.
