Carla Moran is the fictional name of a Californian woman who was brutally treated by unseen forces. Because of her mysterious story, Carla Moran became the subject of a movie titled The Entity in 1981. Carla Moran’s story is also the subject of a book of the same name as the film. Though the case received a wide popularity in those years, its mystery is still unresolved and no one has ever been able to find much information about the unseen forces.
According to the details, Carla Moran (which is a pseudonym for Doris Bither) was a resident of Culver City, California. In 1974, Carla Moran, who was the mother of four children at that time, reported that her house was attacked by ghosts or strange creatures which were not visible. Carla Moran also told that several unseen forces had made visits to her house (with an average of three of them in a day) and attacked her violently.
Carla Moran then sought psychiatric help and guidance and consulted several books too. One day while she was visiting a bookstore, she met two parapsychologists Barry Taff and Kerry Gaynor. Taff and Gaynor had specialized in several poltergeist and haunted-house cases. They volunteered to consult and investigate her case.
During their investigation, Taff and Gaynor would visit Carla Moran’s house and take pictures. Reportedly, when the unseen creatures were inside the room (as was told by Carla Moran) the Polaroid photos would not develop properly, but when Carla Moran told that the figures have gone the photos developed normally.
Both Taff and Gaynor have agreed that they have sighted a floating ‘light ball’ in one room of Carla Moran’s house. One of the doctors also witnessed a shadowy creature which disappeared; the same description was given by Carla Moran’s eldest son who also witnessed a shadowy figure.
Reportedly, after the investigation of Taff and Gaynor, the unseen creatures reduced the number of their visits to Carla Moran house. Carla Moran then relocated to Texas where she was allegedly revisited by the paranormal creatures.
Carla Moran (Doris Bither) was diagnosed with cancer later and died of multiple myeloma in July 2006. Her death also brought an end to the research on the paranormal attacks.
