Finnish researchers have published their comprehensive study on vitamin D and it has been revealed that low vitamin D levels could lead to Parkinson’s disease.
The study was carried out in Archives of Neurology on 3,000 people and the researchers came to know that lack of vitamin D could increase the risk of Parkinson’s disease in the later part of the life.
Sun Light is one of the most easy and efficient source of vitamin D.
It has been stated that Vitamin D help and protects those nerve cells which could get effected during the development of Parkinson disease in human body.
The Charity of Parkinson of United Kingdom has said more research is required to reach to the final conclusion.
The study which was carried out by the National Institute for Health and Welfare of Finland was based on the study of Vitamin D levels in the groups of people in 1978 to 1980 by using blood samples. Then they enhanced the study by following these people for 30 years and it has been revealed that chances of Parkinson’s disease may rise to three folds with low Vitamin D levels.
Parkinson’s disease can affect most part of the brain and the most significant symptoms could be slow movement and tremor.
Vitamin D is usually known for bone formation and calcium uptake for last many years by the doctor but now the latest results showed that Vitamin D has a very significant role to play to regularize the immune system and it also helps in developing nervous system.
