World of Cars, an interactive online community is unveiled by Walt Disney Co. The World of Cars is inspired by 2006′s hit film Cars by Pixer Animation Studios.
Walt Disney has planned to revive its marketing engine for the World of Cars as promotions for the virtual world are appearing on Disney Channel.
World of Cars is Walt Disney’s fifth such community that will keep children interacting with their favorite characters like Lightening McQueen and Mater until the release of ‘Cars2′ in 2011.
According to Disney Product Director, one of the industry veterans, Rachel DiPaola, who is supervising the World of Cars project and has developed more than 50 games, said that she went into gaming because she wanted to be in a world that involves children.
She added that idea behind World of Cars is quite close the children and this phenomenon is quite interesting as it keeps you in touch with children who write you about their likes and dislikes about the games.
Answering the question that how their contact with children help them in development of the games, she added that it is quite important for development as it has a interesting balance adding that while in production they are unaware of the fact what kids want from them and when we interact with children we come across ideas and do programming and build models and in this way we are trying to come up with expectations of the children.
