Taylor Momsen has been chosen as the face of Material Girl, a clothing line for juniors for Macy’s. The line is co-designed by Madonna and her teen daughter Lourdes Leon.
Taylor Momsen, the actress who played good girl gone bad Jenny Humphrey in the CW series has now become the promotional image for the clothing line.
Taylor Momsen as the face of Material Girl is shown in a striped skirt and gray top. To complete the line she is shown wearing leather boots and to make it a pure choice for the juniors, Taylor Momsen is laden with loads of silver bangles.
Taylor Momsen with her grungy and rocker style looks more than sexy in these clothes and it looks as the line is meant for Taylor Momsen but this may not be the case as 16 year old Taylor Momsen is often seen puffing cigarettes and she has also said that she did not nurture any intention to become a role model for her fans. There are speculations that many critics may protest her appointment to represent as the face of tween-oriented clothing line.
Many tabloids have posed the question that Lourdes Leon would have been a better choice for the face of Material Girl to avoid any negative criticism and for the fact that Lourdes Leon is surfacing as a budding fashionista as she grows up and she even blogs about her love for vintage shops, 80s fashion of clothing line and Oxford shoes. It seems her famous mother Madonna has not allowed the future fashionista to go in front of the cameras at such early age.
Whatever may be the reason, the Material Girl collection with Taylor Momsen as its face will be available at Macy’s stores from 3 August this year.
