Fans of Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, celebrated his birthday across the world. The birthday celebrations were held on Saturday i.e. August 28, a day before his 52nd birthday. Perhaps the biggest birthday celebration was held in Gary, Indiana, the hometown of Michael Jackson. The late King of Pop was honored with a ‘This is it’ birthday party at his home where he spent his childhood. Mayor of Gary, Mr. Rudy Clay, also attended the birthday celebration and paid a tribute to the deceased singer. He said that the memories of Michael Jackson are still fresh in his heart and we must honor the person who was the ‘world’s greatest entertainer’. Joe Jackson, the father of Michael Jackson, also attended the ceremony and cut the birthday cake. The birthday celebration also featured a dance on ‘Thriller’. In addition to the birthday celebration, a separate four-day event MJ Fanvention also began in Gary to pay a tribute to the late singer.

Across the world, Michael Jackson’s fans have held different tribute parties to celebrate his birthday. In India, a Michael Jackson History tour is being held in Mumbai which was opened on Saturday by a dance act performed by Ganesh Hegde – one of the leading choreographers of the country. Several private parties were organized in night clubs in different parts of the country. Some die-hard fans threw house parties to celebrate their favorite singer Michael Jackson’s birthday.
