Lalah Hathaway, well-known R&B Jazz singer is performing at the Pre taping Grammy show. She will perform with Kurt Elling who is also a Jazz vocalist. She is a talented singer and has been nominated for Grammy Awards for the Best R&B Female singer for her most popular song “That Was Then”.

She has a musical background as her father Donny Hathaway was an outstanding solo singer and she music lovers often tried to find out the glimpse of Donny Hathaway into her singing. Her first song “Heaven Knows” went very popular; she released her first album titled with her own name “Lalah Hathaway” in the year 1990.her second album with the title “Night and Day” was released in 1991 and then in 1994 there came another album of this brilliant singer titled as “A Moment”.

Then she took a long break and in 2007 she signed a contract with Stax Records and they released their 4th album and just after a year her fifth album came to public eye with the title “Self Portrait”.

She has been nominated for the Grammy Awards in the 23rd Category and all the singers with her have been nominated for their solo performances. Other singers nominated for Grammy in the same category are Melanie Fiona, Jazmine Sullivan and Ledisi.
After her nomination for Grammy Awards, her fame and popularity is expected to be boost up as people are eagerly searching for her songs on the internet and are keen to know about her.
