Just when Roger Ross Williams was presented the Oscars for his short film ‘Music by Prudence’, Elinor Burkett stormed the stage to ruin the perfect moment of Williams. Roger Ross Williams is the director of ‘Music by Prudence’, a short film about a disabled singer/songwriter living in Zimbabwe. The short film was declared the winner of Best Documentary short category award at the Oscars. Elinor Burkett, a Zimbabwe-based journalist who gave the idea of this film, was originally the producer of the film project. But Elinor Burkett later left it and sued Roger Ross Williams, and was determined to completely ruin the Oscars moment of Roger Ross Williams.

As Mr. William began his Oscars acceptance speech, Elinor Burkett stormed the stage in her purple dress. Williams completely looked helpless as Elinor Burkett pushed him aside and brought herself closer to the mic to start her own speech.

The audience watched the two in bemusement. Not just that the very action of Elinor Burkett looked funny but also when she was asked later whatever happened on the stage the journalist gave even a more ridiculous explanation: Elinor Burkett tells that she had a bad difference with the director over the direction and it ended up in a law suit which was later resolved in the court.

Elinor Burkett complained that Williams has been taking all the credits and has never called her in any event which happened around the Oscars. So, she was confused who would take the award at the Oscars. Elinor Burkett even said that the audience could clearly see that Williams was rushing towards the stage to reach first and even his mother blocked her way with a cane and hence she couldn’t reach at the stage fast.

Elinor Burkett claims that the film was her idea, and she lives in Zimbabwe while Williams had never even visited the country. Williams too had so much to say in his favor. Williams said that he was shocked and that Elinor Burkett truly pulled ‘a Kanye’. He also refused Elinor Burkett’s blame that his mother tried to block her way. Williams says that his mother is 87-years-old and she was just giving me a hug.
