On Tuesday night’s installment of American Idol everyone’s favorite Crystal Bowersox won millions of American Idol fans’ hearts after performing Midnight Train to Georgia.

Yesterday’s theme of American Idol was soul and R&B and the guest judge was none other than the R&B legend Usher. The R&B sensation provided some useful tips to all the contestants and it looked as if all were really inspired by his presence at the stage.

Well in my opinion the night clearly belonged to Lee Dewyze and Crystal Bowersox who impressed one and all with their fine performances. Others such as Michael Lynche and Andrew Garcia also did well after heeding to Usher’s tips for the Idols while Tim Urban and DidiBenami even struggled to keep their songs together. Benami;s performance was dubbed as someone who’s trying to swim across a jelly by Simon while regarding Urban’s selection of song, Simon said that it was like a mouse picking a fight with an elephant. Man this guy sure has a vast dictionary of insults.

Well coming back to the highlights of the show, it was Bowersox’s performance that made my day. As she had promised last week that she would give a big surprise on Tuesday’s episode and that is what exactly what she did. She put her guitar on the side sat in front of a piano and churned out Gladys Knight & the Pips’ “Midnight Train to Georgia”.

Bowersox drew a big round of applause from the audience and the judges too were all praise for her. Simon stated that her selection of song was sensational and her vocals were equally incredible.

Well if Simon praises you, you must have sung really spectacularly.
