The theme song ‘The Weary Kind’ from the movie ‘Crazy heart’ and officially performed by Ryan Bingham and T Bone Burnett was declared the ‘Best Original Song’ at the last night’s Oscar’s ceremony.

The last night award was the first Oscar for the duo but nevertheless Burnett and Bingham were the favorites to grab it. In the lead up to the 82nd Academy Awards, the duo had won many accolades for the same song including Best Music score at the Los Angeles Awards, Best Original Song at the Golden Globes and Best First Feature at the Independent Spirit Awards.

The Academy-Award winning song was written by T Bone Burnett and Ryan Bingham while the official version of the movie’s soundtrack was sung by Bingham. Colin Farrell and Jeff Bridges, who play in the leading roles in the movie, have performed their own renditions of the theme song in it.

Though this was the first Oscar win for Burnett but he has been nominated for Oscar’s before and has been a sensation at the Grammy Awards for many years now. He won 4 Grammy’s at the 2002 Grammy Awards ceremony for the categories of Album of the Year, Best Traditional Folk Album, Best Compilation Soundtrack Album and Producer of the Year, Non-Classical.

In the last years Grammy’s T Bone Burnett won Grammy’s for the Best Album of the Year, Best Contemporary Folk/Americana Album, Record of the Year and Best Traditional Blues Album.

For the Rock & Roll and Country exceptional star, an Oscar was definitely somewhere down the pipeline and with churning out the magical notes of ‘The Weary Kind’ the award became due to the legendary star we know as T Bone Burnett.
