Roy Disney Passed Away

Roy Disney who was the nephew of Walt Disney has passed away. He was seventy nine years of age. Roy Disney was dedicated to his uncle’s germinal spirit and always tried to fight against all those elements in the company who wanted to deviate from that.

He rebelled against such executives and established his writ in the company by dethroning two top executives from the company. He then took corrective measures to bring the creative spirit of his uncle back. Roy Disney was suffering from stomach cancer.

He was taking treatment at Hoag Memorial Hospital. Roy Disney worked hard under the supervision of his father and his uncle Walt Disney. Roy Disney, who was humble in spirit, supervised the financial and business dimension of the company only and remained quiescent until company digressed from its founding values and took a deviant course. The same humble spirit proved to be a voracious one when he realized that the situation is going to be exacerbated. He took hold of the company and turned around it.

People never expected that he would come up to the mark for the welfare and protection of company’s benefits and values. Peter Schneider the ex-president of feature

animation department stated just before his death that he was not that much humble and inactive person and said, “You underestimate Roy at your peril, as many people have learned”.

Roy Disney injected fresh blood in the dyeing company by his innovative and creative steps and introduced many hit animations like “The Beauty and the Beast”, “The Little Mermaid” and “The Lion King”.

He was nominated for Oscars in 2004 for Destino. The Little Mermaid was one of his stunning productions. He undoubtedly played a pivotal role in the renaissance of the company.
