I wish I were younger and would have been able to go on one of these trips to help protect the whales. It., has been a show that I tried not to miss as it has opened my eyes to the awful thing that they do to these precious animals that God has created, so that man can have some kind of meat, I am sure it makes God very sad. Keep up the good work

  2. Kelen Marshall RN says:

I’m a Surgery RN and work with very gifted and intellingent people as part of my usual day…I am disgusted with our worlds treatment of animals ( and often children). I am impressed with this mans actions on behalf of our whales and therefore all animals. Pete Bethune should be honored for his attempts to protect animals rights along with all our animal heroes because without them we would not have rights for animals ( that came before rights for children by the way). Unfortunately, this is still not enough for those with a yen for whale meat. Pete is right up there with Henry Berg in my book. Go Pete! p.s. hes easy on the eyes too!

  3. Asa says:

Im glad to see these people be a voice for these whales. They are big part of our world and could end extinct if something not done!!! Very pleased they didnt meet quota and they are very sneaky and turn around the truth.. Shout to Peter good job!!!!!

  4. Brittany Garcia says:

Congrates to Peter! I’m happy he’s home safe. That man is insane but to deal with ruthless murders you have to have some crazy in you. He has my full support. Shame on Japan.

  5. Gary lafreniere says:

I hope you start a foundation to assist with your cost for this great ordeal. You are an inspiration and I pray that God will continue to protect you. Thank you for fighting on behalf of the world!

  6. Chris Andrews says:

GOD BLESS PET BETHUNE HE IS THE BRAVEST MAN I HAVE EVER SEEN BY FAR HE IS A TOTAL HERO AN ASSET TO THE WORLD THANK YOU MR BETHUNE!!!!!!!!!!! 7. Leo says:

He’s an Eco-Pirate. To board a ship in international waters is an act of piracy. In past times they dealt with this in a much different manner. They used to hang pirates at sea. I never hear anyone mention that he was also in trouble for having a weapon (Bow and Arrow) aboard the Ady Gil, which happens to be a violation of international maritime laws. The Sea Shepard hippy eco-pirates douchebags have pretty much shunned him from any future participation in their activities. I treat their efforts as a comedy. To see the hippies get all broken up when they see the dead whale get hauled up the chute makes me laugh…It’s a whale, Get over it. It does make for good TV, and i enjoy cheering for the whaling fleet.

    • Shane says:

Is nothing sacred to you? Obviously not plants or animals. How about the planet itself? Im no hippie, but I would like the earth and all of its species to be around for many generations. As far as piracy goes… History books are filled with criminals that went on to become heros. Just because it is illegal, does not mean it isn’t morally right. The media can sensationalize things quite a bit, but at least we are talking about the issues that we might have never known about. But I am probably making your day, because I’m sure you are just some 15 year old virgin that is just trying to get a rise out of the “hippies”.

  8. You are Lame says:

What a stupid hippie, they should have done more. Oh well, Cost of new ship: 3 million $; Bail: 500000$; Not acomplishing anything, priceless

  9. Pete Mosse says:

    @ Patricia Hollett

I’m sure it doesn’t make God sad. I’m sure that if you read your Bible you would know that.

    Genesis 9:1-3

1 Then God blessed Noah and his sons and told them, ?Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth. 2 All the animals of the earth, all the birds of the sky, all the small animals that scurry along the ground, and all the fish in the sea will look on you with fear and terror. I have placed them in your power. 3 I have given them to you for food, just as I have given you grain and vegetables.

The hebrew word for fish simply means creature in this verse, it was translated fish for reading purposes. Whales are creatures of the sea therefore it’s ok to eat them.

God only put such amazing creatures to show that there was a God. Romans 1:18-19.

Ecclesiastes 2:24 A man can do no better than to eat and drink.

So eat whale it’s ok with God. Ya dig?

  10. Bethune-o-phile says:

Bethune is a media seeking ass as are his co-horts over at SSCS. Japan is slated to kill whales again this year and he has accomplished nothing. He did sell some nifty t-shirts and I am pretty sure folks buy him beer in pubs now but whales are still being killed even after a full season of his bald headed antics. It will be the same case next year as well, and the year after that. Do you see a pattern? There’s no eco award for just showing up and breaking a few of your own boats. We’re in this to win it, and folks like Bethune are idiots who deserve to be sidelined, not praised.

  11. Charles says:

3 million dollars cost of Ady Gil plus bail and court cost < $70 Mil it cost Japanese whaling fleet for those 3 weeks. This battle goes to the SS

  12. Boneman says:

What a bunch of inept, ineffective,self-important, overly dramatic fools. The sea shepards are nothing but fundraisers who talk idiots out of money, then waste it by sailing around the seas and burning up fuel. The should have kept that pete in jail and fed him whale burgers. What a disgraceful bunch of clowns!

  13. Ken says:

I am agree with Leo. Peter Bethune is a pirate, after all. No doubt he knew what he was doing, he also knew the risks, he got off pretty easily, considering what he could get. Paid his way out, that’s all. His nuts crew was pushing the boat on the Japanese, not otherwise. They were the once who came too close. They were asking for trouble, so they got it. By the way, where did he get this kind of money? Over half a million in legal fees, they said. From his activism? These are some good questions people should ask themselves before they yell what a hero he is… Does this Sea Shepherd really stop the whale killing by just doing some pirate work? I think that they just like some attention, like all activists. Money, rating, and attention, especially when it’s on TV.

  14. Kevan says:

Thank you Boneman. I can’t believe people are saying that the Japanese shouldn’t be eating whales. Weather it morally wrong or not doesn’t even matter. The sea sheperds think their way is the right way, and feel that it is morally wrong to eat whales. What jerks. Who are they to be telling others whats right? If you don’t want to eat whales, thats fine. Just don’t tell me that I shouldn’t be doing it. I should go up to them, an just throw a taboo on whatever they’re eating.
Also, what about cows? Are they not “beautiful” enough for you? So its ok to eat them but not whales. Orcas eat whales. I don’t see Paul Fatass throwing stinky butter at them. Maybe because its nature?
