Juanita Goggins Died February, 2010!

Juanita Goggins, the 75 years old first African-American female member of the South Carolina General Assembly from 1974 to 1980, died last month alone in her house. “Juanita has already died for about two weeks when her body is found at her residence on 3rd March” said authorities.

Juanita Goggins was a graduate from South Carolina State University and after her graduation she shifted to the Rock Hill in 1957. Goggins represented House District 49 in Rock Hill for six years and she was also the first black woman to hand out on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. She remained an intense promoter for education throughout her life. Full-day kindergarten is a great example of her hard works. Goggins retired in 1980 from the representation of Rock Hill in the Assembly.

All of her family members which include her ex-husband and son said “Goggins struggled with mental illness for the last three decades of her life”. Her ex-husband, a retired dentist from Rock Hill, said “she was a fine human being who cared for others throughout her life, although we split up for any reasons but yet she was very close to my heart.

Juanita Goggins died last month at her home with hypothermia and her body was discovered from her place bout 10 days ago. I am sure that death of “Juanita Goggins” will surely be considered as a great lose for America and rest of humanity, as she spent all her life in serving the needy.
