Corey Haim, a teen star and a heartthrob who gained much attention through his movies in 1980s, had died. He was 38.

Corey Haim died on Wednesday at a hospital in Los Angeles. According to the details, Corey Haim died after collapsing in his apartment. His mother, with whom Hail shared his apartment, called the paramedics.

The Los Angeles County Coroner tells that as he got out of his bed, he felt weak and collapsed on floor. Corey Haim was taken to the Providence St. Joseph Medical Center where he was pronounced death.

Reportedly, there is no evidence of foul play, but an autopsy test will help determine the cause of death. Corey Haim had complaint for flulike symptoms and was using over-the-counter medication before his death. The police say that Corey Haim could have died of illness or the drugs could also have a part in the cause of his death.

Corey Haim was an ex-teen idol who gained much popularity through his acting honors in films like ‘Lucas’ and ‘The Lost Boys’. Corey Haim was a rising star of 1980s whose career was shattered by drug abuse. In 2004, Corey Haim acknowledged his struggle with drug addiction and abuse.

He told that he started with cocaine which then led him to use crack. During an interview in 2007, Corey Haim admitted that drug abuse blighted his career. ‘I wasn’t functional enough to work for any, even myself’, he said during an interview to ‘Nightline’.

Corey Haim entered into rehabilitation and was prescribed medications from his medical supervisor. His friend and a frequent co-star Corey Feldman told in an interview after Haim’s death that Corey Haim had become sober and that his drug abuse specialist minimized the prescribed medication to almost zero. Feldman requested people not to make any conclusion about the cause of Corey Haim’s death until autopsy test results are released.

Corey Haim had been working in some film productions too. His new film is set to be released soon.
