• Select news item for the preparation of news story
• Preparation of news from field story must be according to technique and space
• Correction of news for grammar, typing mistakes and accuracy of the field story
• Give a summary of news provided by the reporter from field

• Rewriting of the news provided by the reporter in easiest of the words possible, projecting the important points of the news to balance the story

• Checking of the news/story for legal issues
• Prevention and unapproved of bias stories
• Creation of the pages according to the graphic design
• Checking of news/stories with news agencies for relevance that reporter may have missed
• Choosing the most appropriate image for the story
• Compiling/collection of routine info such as tables and charts
• Proofreading of the complete story
• Keeping up today with the stories appearing in other publications

REPORTERS

• Reporter must research before working on the officially approved news, stories and interviews of the persons. Personally or over the Telephone
• Reporter must file press release in the respective news beat
• Reporter must cover all the stories, news, events and incidents in their respective beats
• Reporter must coordinate with the news web editor
• Reporter must coordinate with desk
• Reporter must submit news/stories within the deadline provided by the office unless breaking story
• Reporter should always keep the chief reporter of his beat updated about the incidents, news, stories in his beat
• Reporter always follow up potential news stories in his beat
• Reporter must always check the facts and background information of the news/stories before submitting news stories
